Wishing you a happy & ethical birthday...
As each birthday rolls around, I fight an inner battle between my belief that the best `thing' I can give my child is my time and love. And another opposing belief that I'd like to give them presents as great and exciting as I used to get as a kid. It is a gift to see the pleasure on their face and a joy to give it. But in searching for the right gift to give them, I feel a certain pressure to provide the wonderful childhood memories I have of tearing open wrapping paper...more |

Interrupting
Whether you’re on the phone, busy on your computer, or talking to another adult, it can be frustrating when your children constantly interrupt you. What’s surprising to learn is that they do it because they always get a response from you when they do! They’ve learned that you are willing to stop what you’re doing to answer them. Keep in mind that children are so focused on their own needs that they don’t realise that you have needs, too...more

Palm Oil is killing off the orangutan
The orangutans' rainforest is disappearing at an overwhelming rate with the remaining forest being destroyed to make way for palm oil plantations. Palm oil is found in many everyday products including biscuits, chips, shampoo, skin care products and more. Palm oil is also used as a biofuel and the demand for this fuel alternative is adding to the problem. Palm oil is also often labelled as 'vegetable oil' as there is no legal requirement for manufacturers to label it specifically as palm oil. Extinction in the wild is likely to be 2010 for Sumatran Orangutans and 2015 for Bornean Orangutans. To learn more about palm oil and what you can do to help save the orangutan by visiting the Palm Oil Action Group's website here.

The HPV Hoax Exposed
A NewsTarget investigation has revealed that the FDA knew as early as 2003 that Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) was not linked to cervical cancer. Despite this knowledge, the FDA, along with key pharmaceutical companies, has continued to push for the use of HPV vaccinations as a defence against cervical cancer, even when its own research showed no link exists...more
